Despite the recent Wall Street Journal newspaper editorial headline "Ben Carson for President", internationally renowned Johns Hopkins pediatric neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson announced again on Friday, March 8th, 2013 that he does not aspire to run for political office.

Dr. Carson made headlines in February 2013 when he spoke at the National Prayer Breakfast gathering in Washington, D.C., as President Obama sat nearby.  In his speech, Carson criticized political correctness for hindering healthy political debate, and the famous neurosurgeon spoke about the virtues of a flat tax.

Carson reminded the group that he has been speaking publicly about issues for over 20 years, and many people have urged him before to run for President.

"First of all, I don't think I would fit [in public office], because I don't believe in political correctness; and I certainly don't believe in getting into bed with special groups," he said.
