The death of a loved one raises numerous legal issues concerning the deceased individual's estate and private affairs.

"Probate" of a will means proving the will's genuineness in probate court.  "Probate law" involves the court-supervised process determining and gathering the deceased person's assets and distributing them to creditors and inheritors (or heirs).

Some of the basic steps in the "probate process" can include (1) the will, (2) intestate succession (no will), (3) probate fees, (4) settling creditors debts, and (5) disputes with creditors.
