There is $500,000 per person available to anyone who wants to spend it virtually any way he or she fees fit---so long as it’s lawful. With one catch: the recipient must be a "genius". The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation awards the $500,000 merit-based fellowships or grants annually to multiple recipients.
The national law offices of Charles Jerome Ware, based on Columbia, Maryland, have represented several geniuses over the years.
The 2011 MacArthur Fellows (awardees, grantees, recipients) will be announced on September 20, 2011.
