Effective this Fall 2011, entertainment icon OPRAH WINFREY will add the roles of Chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of her cable network, OWN.
Further, in a major effort to bolster the new network's sagging cable ratings, Oprah is transferring her major administrators from her highly successful HARPO entertainment company to OWN (The Oprah Winfrey Network), HARPO's Erik Logan and Sheri Salata now join OWN immediately as joint-Presidents.
All future HARPO television projects will be produced by OWN.
